Prior to VAMS® implementation, client supply chain and value analysis teams were relying on emails and spreadsheets to manage their new product request management activities. Decision making and communication of decisions were not always aligned. After installing VAMS, client was able to vastly improve its speed to decision and communications with key stakeholders. Subsequently, as a result of this success, this client’s pharmacy team jumped at the opportunity to utilize VAMS for its Formulary Management Team. As a result, the pharmacy team has a streamlined process, from beginning to end in which the pharmacy operations accept all new pharmaceutical/drug requests from its physicians through VAMS. The team then manages every step of their process (due diligence, committee review, decision) all the way through final implementation.

Prior to VAMS implementation, client value analysis program was decentralized with some corporate oversight. Product decision making at the local level was chaotic. Cohesive, system decisions and implementations were sporadic at best. After working with DLG professionals to align their processes and implement VAMS, client was able to immediately centralize all new product requests, decision making. Ultimately, improving system contract compliance and utilization.

Prior to VAMS implementation, client was relying on paper based new product request system to manage new technology. DLG staff worked with client to develop one comprehensive intake form enabling the client to streamline multiple processes into one cohesive process. Now, Requestor, Department Manager, Value Analysis, Committee and Supply Chain stakeholders all had one information source and platform to efficiently make defendable decisions because all of their due diligence and documentation was now in place. As a result, client then asked DLG to streamline its Capital Equipment approval process via VAMS.

341 bed Medical Center, NorthwestWe were relying heavily on a paper based va system, VAMS is now our one true resource sharing hub. |
Prior to VAMS implementation, client was a stand-alone medical center that had no consistent value analysis process or program. DLG staff worked with client to develop value analysis committee structure, policies and procedures. DLG supported client staff as they proliferated the new program. Within 3 months, committees were meeting consistently and utilizing VAMS as their value analysis platform. Fast forward 3 years. Client formed a new health system entity and brought in hospitals (1 medium size, 1 small). Neither organization had a strong value analysis program but had forms and processes in place. Client was able to leverage the previous success it had in implementing its program by simply expanding the VAMS platform to include the 2 new entities. Within days, client was able to centralize its program and direct all requests and committee activity through VAMS. Thus, having a unified program with the least amount of effort and time.

“Before VAMS, we thought we were doing great with our Value Analysis program. We were documenting $1.5Million in savings each year. But, after implementing the VAMS Solution, we recently implemented $4.5Million in documented savings in 9 months! Quite frankly, we were amazed at how VAMS unlocked our ability to implement more cost savings projects, more effectively, faster.”

“We’ve reviewed and even worked with other “out of the box” products that try to deliver what VAMS delivers. But we found that most will require substantial unanticipated modifications by the vendor resulting in added customization costs for us. The most powerful aspect of the VAMS program is its flexibility to adapt to our various supply chain and value analysis processes. Combine that with its ease of use and that is why our VAMS program is becoming more and more successful every day.”
